Great place to bring older kids so they can learn more about the history of our country. Most people don't know this went on.
Great place to learn some interesting history of our country and this area.
Wonderful sight to see. To know that America cared about all of its children. Children who are stuck in big cities without adult supervision were brought to the west to find homes and people who would care about them.
I had no idea of the history of orphans a century ago from the big East coast cities and how they found homes by being put on trains to the farmlands of America. At first blush you might think it was exploiting the kids because they would go to families and farms where they would help the farm succeed. But this little museum bears the testimonies of children who were so happy to find a stable home after roaming the big cities as homeless orphans.
Very educational and informative about a huge event that impacted so many children in the US.
